Renew Car Insurance – Automatic Renewals

Renew Car Insurance

Most of us assume that our car insurance policy is for 12 months. This makes sense as the cover lasts for 12 months. Right? Well in some instances – wrong! Some policies are for ‘continuos cover’, unless they are cancelled by the policyholder they simply rollover to the next year.

If you are in the position of having been covered for 9-10 months and are nearing the end of the 12 months cover, then it would be extremely wise to take another look at your policy terms and conditions. Stories are emerging of payments being taken from customers bank accounts after 11 months cover as payment for next year – even though you may not have ‘renewed’ your car insurance policy!

Compare with Google Car Insurance

14 Sep

Google car insurance comparison is a service recently launched by the company to deliver a different approach to providing great value motor quotes. Users of Google in the UK will notice a sponsored listing near the top of the page when they type in the search ‘car insurance’.

Comparing approximately 120 car insurers, Google provides a comparable service similar to others such as GoCompare, MoneySupermarket.com and Confused.com. There are important differences claimed by Google though, such as a promise that neither it nor its insurers will sell any personal details to third parties.

It has been a source of contention in the past that some price comparison websites make assumptions about individuals during the quote-generating process. Google’s car insurance compare service requires the customer to actively select options relating to their vehicle, personal profile and policy requirements.

It will also be interesting to see how the landscape plays out in the UK between Google’s new offering and other well know motor insurance comparison websites?!
