What do people think about the idea of group buying car insurance in the UK?

If we take the young driver car insurance market as an example, we all know that premiums are skewed for the majority by the poor driving of the minority! This system is delivering exhorbitant quotes for fully comprehensive cover for under 25′s.

It is quite possible that motor insurers would be interested in lowering premiums for members of a group with similar driving/vehicle profiles. If the group was big enough then the insurer would benefit by capturing more customers and increasing market share.

In addition we all know the power of collective repsonsibility! Meaning group members would feel more focused on maintaining good driving habits etc, for the benefit of the whole (keeping future premiums low).
