Focus on Green Car Insurance

7 Oct

To kick of this month we focus on the policy features and benefits that make up the increasingly popular green car insurance.

There are a small but increasing number of insurers who offer solely environmentally friendly insurance products. In addition there is a growing number of insurers who are adding a “green element” to their policies, most notably ibuyeco and the Co-operative who have carbon off-setting elements to their policies.

You can check out how much carbon dioxide (CO2) your car uses by using a free carbon footprint calculator. Insurers will offset 100% of your carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions at no extra cost. Your carbon footprint is offset by a number of different projects helping you to be carbon neutral. Most UK car insurance providers don’t offer you these benefits.

Motorists who drive hybrid cars such as the Toyota Prius, Honda Civic, VW Polo Bluemotion or Lexus can also take advantage of carbon neutral policies. Drivers who are concerened avout the state of our planet can now benefit from quality green car insurance that is both competitively priced and better for the environment:

  • Competitive pricing
  • Save money with a low emissions discount
  • Courtesy car with comprehensive cover
  • Option to add on legal expenses up to £75,000
  • Knowledgeable and friendly staff

The market for both new and used cars is increasing and so are the car insurance options. There are different types of insurance offered by car sellers, which most of us are unaware of. You can get information about car insurance on Buy a Car Review (http://www.buy-a-car-review.com/). The site provides car reviews, instant car loans as well as sells and buys cars at the best prices.

I know that the fashionable thing is “green” everything. Don’t get me wrong, I recycle and try to live lighly on the earth…but I can’t wrapmy brain around green car insurance. It should still be based on good driving, no accidents, age, experience, etc…and not whether I drive a pick up or a hybrid.

I hope you continue keeping these articles coming!

Hi, Good post. I myself work for an Insurance company, http://www.chill.ie and what we have done in our attempt to “go green” is our travelsave offer. So basically anyone who has an annual travel pass for bus, rail, or tram will get 15% reduction on their insurance premium. The reason being is that their car is sitting at home Monday-Friday and therefore the risk of them having an accident is minimal.

I think multicarinsure should also start providing Green car insurance for multiple as many people are starting to use green cars it would be good for the people who have multiple in there household to get good premiums from there insurance if they introduce green car insurance in there bandwagon. :)
